Just before Christmas, Lee Leander is caught shoplifting. It is her third offense. She is prosecuted by John Sargent. He postpones the trial because it is hard to get a conviction at Christmas time. But he feels sorry for her and arranges for her bail, and ends up taking her home to his mother for Christmas. Preston Sturges写的这个圣诞暖心故事还行，开场的庭审戏太搞了，辩方律师简直就是个戏精，Missy饰演的小偷从小缺爱，也没被家庭正确关爱和对待，所以逻辑上来说通过爱来感化好像是那么回事，于是接下来顺理成章的变成了一部公路加圣诞浪漫爱情片，又有亲情又有爱情，男女主的爱情戏挺cliché，而结尾没走大团圆路线也算是坚守了底线吧，最后不得不说Missy是真的美。
