时间起始于卢米埃尔式的明媚，到地狱游览之后开始了毁灭的进程。战争机器的制作、流水线生产、启动运转再投入毁灭，画幅打开伴随炮弹出膛，黑夜里对文明的轰炸，历史倒退过程中绚丽的烟火。进入彩色的时空，在废墟上光脚前行。

日常与毁灭的日常，开头便快速将这一结构预演，随后展开为完整的影像衔接，以一种声音并置的方式展开，一是共同的听觉主题，一是演讲、音乐演奏笼罩历史现场。对比Sokurov将所有人设置为在场，此处则处理为了画像符号的存在与人物在场的对照。几个极为重要的视觉场面，炸弹的光束点亮黑场，轰炸机舱门开启带来光亮，“毁灭”于此盛大出场。
